This is on the tiger Installing Round Cube for webmail instruction set for using IMAP over SSL. My original post should have shown 'localhost', localhose was a typo.
Sorry missed the roundcube angle. I've still got this as SSL. What it means is that roundcube makes a secure connection from the apache server (running php) to the imap server. This has nothing to do with HTTP or HTTPS, that is between apache and the browser. I only have IMAP over SSL as available option I've disabled normal van IMAP out of paranoia ;-).

I have the rcmail_config set to 'ssl://localhose:993' but can only access using http, not https. Is the exchange of password secure?
